>You are about to be dragged, kicking and screaming into a >GUI environment. You must install Operations Navigator on >one PC. I got this working... Thanx for all your help. For anyone interested... I had to do the following: 1. I had to download a printer driver that would work for the PC OS I had (Windows/2000) ... I went to www.ibm.com and did a search on Printer Drivers... I was pleasantly surprised to find an AFP driver for an IBM 3900 printer! 2.) I downloaded and installed the printer driver using the instructions that came with it. 3.) Via the OPS Nav interface: Network/Servers/TCPIP ... I opened AS/400 Netserver and defined a printer share. I needed to know several things to do this. a.) The *OUTQ I wanted to spool to. b.) The Print Driver Name (IBM AFP 3900 - from step 1) c.) A printer file name (I used QGPL/QPRINT) 4.) I then added a new printer to my PC using the Start/Settings/Printer tab ... I just configured a network printer and selected the one I defined as being sharable on my AS/400 (See step 3). The install process eventually asked to tell it where it could find the print driver and I was able to use the browse button to locate the one I installed in step 2..... That's it! When I sent a Word document to this printer, it was spooled to the AS/400 and the operator printed it. It looked great... A little less quality than my 600DPI HP printer, because the IBM 3900 printer is only a 240DPI printer, but that's ok... Now I can print that 50,000 page mail merge document that started me down this path... Kenneth **************************************** Kenneth E.
