I was under the impression that the 400 was in a separate city from the

     Yes, they will. LPD (line printer daemon) receives the spoolfile
     and directs it to a specified outq on the remote box. At that
     point, the remote AS400 controls the spoolfile and prints it as if
     were generated on the remote box.
