[Linux stuff snipped] Get out of here - Linux is as secure and reliable as an AS/400 - my intranet site is on a 8 year old 486/66 and has never failed in two years, despite handling 1000 + hits a day. Because it's open source, you can secure it as solid as anything you want - and I wouldn't take bets on your AS/400 security. I was challenged to hack one of ours and walked right in. Don't believe the propaganda - put up a server and try it (it costs nothing but time). It's only M$ you can't secure - because you can't see the code, and because it's designed as a single user system and then forced to be a networked one, so the default is for everything to be open to use and available - because that is what a single user system would expect. M$ are getting there, but the mindset is still single user in most things. -- Steve +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
