I disagree with your comment about VTxxx. I developed a 5250 emulation program which uses VT100 (Telnet/400) and it was not hard at all. It also has the advantage of being extremely small compared to TN5250 programs, which makes it easy to install and distribute. Even though it doesn't have all of the capabilities that you mention, it does the job when all you need is a green screen connection to the AS/400. -----Original Message----- From: Jerome Draper [SMTP:jdraper@wco.com] Sent: Thursday, September 21, 2000 11:03 AM To: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com Subject: Re: function keys in a telnet session - help It's too hard to make VT<nnn> talk to the AS400. You need a TN5250e compliant emulator. I suggest Synapse NetWolf which has a complete implementation of the TN5250e spec including display, printer, file transfer, DDE, WinHLLAPI, free tech support, free online updastes, etc. Free demo is at http://www.synapse.com. Claimer: I sell, support, use, and recommend Synapse products.
