there is a conversion process it goes thru to process on the risc
machine.  it can be done as the restore is happening, as a program run
later (cvt something), or even when the object is first opened.  if the
objects are not observable, they won't convert, and won't run.  then you
can recompile, and if you don't have the source, you're stuck.
