Leif,

Can the AS/400 ping the internet?
CFGTCP option 2 and make sure there is a route to the internet defined.

After that it probably is a firewall problem.

Subject: can't ping AS/400 from outside

        Ok folks,

        This has me stumped:

        1) given a network with AIX, Webserver, and AS/400
        2) network connected to internet
        3) from PC connected to interne (5000 miles away)
I can ping AIX, get pages from the Webserver,
but all attempts to ping the AS/400 times out.
        4) Can ping the AS/400 from PCs on the intranet.
        5) All IP addresses are correct.

Why can't I access the AS/400 from the outside?
No firewall problem that I know of.
Any special configuration for this needed on the AS/400?

        TIA

        Leif Svalgaard
