Get better designed software then.  This indicates to me that the GUI 
software is badly engineered. 

Dropdown boxes, listboxes, subfiles and menubars save steps, keep 
navigation simple, and reduce user training times dramatically.  I hear 
you about the mouse and soreness; that in itself is a compelling argument. 
 But an adequately designed GUI will be faster and easier to use in every 
regard than even the best designed green screen.

I hate using a mouse.  It makes my arm sore (been sore for about one month 

now) and it takes my hands off the keyboard, thereby slowing me down 
tremendously.  If everyone would just learn to type they would see that 
mouses are nothing but a bother.

That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it.
