Can this be solved? We have a printer that has 3 tractors that has one output queue and a writer that is attached and started, one form type for all three tractors. What happens is when spool files are created and sent to this output queue, there is a cl that is used to send the appropriate spool file to the correct tractor (drawer). This all works fine, BUT we would like all spool files that print to tractor (drawer) 1 to be first, followed by all spool files that print to tractor (drawer) 2 to be second. What currently happens is any spool file for tractor (drawer) 1 prints, then switches to tractor (drawer) 2, then switches back to tractor (drawer) 1, and so on and so on... I don't think you can sort the spool files so all drawer 1's are first, or can you? Can you associate two output queues to the same writer? Don't know if this is even doable. We want to try an eliminate any time spent starting a writer for a certain form type, that is why all spool files have the same form type or answering a message to change form types, alignments etc. We could get a cutter for this printer, but management does NOT want to spend any more money. This printer is a central printer for our customer service department, and management does NOT want everyone to have their own printers. Printing to this printer is done all day, so they need their printouts on demand. Any suggestions that we can try would be greatly appreciated!!!!! +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
