FTP Quit working

My ftp quit working a few weeks ago and gives me this error now:

ftp: socket :Address family not supported by protocol family

I don't know of anything that has changed (but I don't hear about
everything done on the system either).  I can hit external ip addresses
ok, but the 400 address always returns this error.  Any ideas?
