I stated my needs in another post, however I thought that I would expand on
your idea a little.

If I could monitor this AFPDS outq where all of my AFPDS printouts are
routed (or duplicated into) by using dtaq's, you are saying  I could
intercept the spoolfile before it gets written and then override the device
type at this point?

If this is the case, my issue is resolved.  A few snippets of code or a link
would be helpful on this.
