Can we have an "Amen" for Brother Daniel and our fine Choir Members Richard Jackson, Kelly Schmotzer, Carl Galgano, Jeff Silberberg, Alex Moore, Sharon Burke, and Pam Fryer? _______________________ Booth Martin Booth@MartinVT.com http://www.MartinVT.com _______________________ "Daniel Wesloskie" <dwesloskie@altatennis.org> Sent by: owner-midrange-l@midrange.com 08/03/2000 10:33 AM Please respond to MIDRANGE-L To: <MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com> cc: Subject: An AS/400 has been saved! [Was: Ready to....] I would like to thank the following people: Richard Jackson Kelly Schmotzer Carl Galgano Jeff Silberberg Alex Moore Sharon Burke Pam Fryer who actually took the time to talk to me, meet with me or offer help in other ways, so that the AS/400 community would not lose one of its own. They are the true believers in the AS/400 and the products that it runs. They did not talk about what someone should be doing to save the AS/400, they took action to save one. As for our business partner, they are history. When it was decided to go with the AS/400 as the platform, ALTA purchased the largest model and configuration within its budget. I don't see anything wrong with that. When it was decided to run Domino on the box, ALTA went with the BP's recommendation, not what they have allegedly recommended. We happen to be running the 2290 processor. After talking to Kelly Schmotzer, I was told the lowest recommended processor is the 2292. So either the BP did not know what they were talking about, (so much for certification), or they lied to us. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, that they just did not know what they were talking about, they went and lied to someone on this list about what they recommended, and to whom they had no business lying to. I am not the only one in Atlanta who feels this way about this BP. So, they are gone. One of the amusing things to come out of this, is that they had raised some concerns about what was being said "on that internet chat room". It sure sounds like they know what they are talking about. So in the next few weeks, we will be removing Domino from the 170 and giving it it's own "pigpen", because we really do need to do the job we are trying to do. I just wanted to thank everyone who was part of the solution,(out of how many on this list) and give credit to those it was due. +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +--- +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
