  • Subject: Error when commecting via FTP
  • From: Dan Rasch <drasch@xxxxxxxxxxxx>

I am trying to connect to a client site, to FTP some files we need for
development, but no cigar.

We have a session that connects and works fine using the IP address, but
when I issue:

FTP RMTSYS(*INTNETADR) INTNETADR('xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx')

I get these two messages:

Connecting to remote host xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx using port 21.
Cannot connect to host xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx at address xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx. Try
 again later.

(the second message displays after a timeout of a few minutes).

There is no secondary help.

Is there a big difference between requesting a session and getting an FTP
connection? What else may be wrong?

TIA,

Dan Rasch - because if the human species concentrated on the really
important things in life, there would be a shortage of fishing poles!
