Hi all,

Bill Zeitler ascending to top management in the Server Group is
great. Bill is a good friend, and really understands the AS/400. Either
this will be good news for the AS/400, or Bill Zeitler will have to get an
"Al Barsa Dart Board", as many of his AS/400 illiterate predecessors have
had. ("Used", they are available really cheap, abet not very
sturdy. After all, they are "VERY Used'!!!)

Caution, remember the statement that I have made on this forum many times
before. Lou's agenda has been, and continues to be to manage IBM's stock
price to be as high as it can be. He doesn't give a flaming @#$% about the
product, the customers, the name or the relationships. He cares about the
stock price, and the stock price only. Lou is a smart guy, and his
lifetime compensation (salary, investment, retirement, yada, yada, yada) is
based on the highness of the stock price on his retirement. The day Lou
quits, is the day that the stock is at it's all-time forever high, because
all of the intellectual capital will have been sucked out of IBM on that
day. As I've said before, and I reiterate now, "The day Lou quits, sell
your IBM stock and sell it short."

Al - On the way home from Rochester. Stuck in the Detroit Airport after a
kind of rushed landing en route to LaGuardia from Minneapolis. (The fire
trucks that were waiting with flashing lights to celebrate our arrival
added a certain "joie de vive". I suspect that I won't be in the office
tomorrow at 8:30 AM.)
