I'm sorry, but I can't agree with the assumption that the OS is
always the problem. An application (poorly designed or implemented)
can and will produce unacceptable results regardless of the
underlying OS. Just as an example, an application allocates
resources (data area, dspf, user space, etc) then neglects to
release them. Another user runs the same app and their session
appears to have frozen. User thinks the computer has failed while
in fact, the OS has done exactly what it was supposed to do.
Had an operator change a jobpty to 1 once. System became
non-responsive, esentially locked until the job finished. Should
the OS be considered at fault for accepting a valid value that
produced undesired results? I think not.
