NT? That is not even an option! I really would not want to go
from bad to worse. I don't understand how the 170 (or anything
up to the 720) can even be called an AS/400. Maybe my expectations
are too high. Should I lower them? I would think that these models
are hurting the reputation of the AS/400.

As aluded to in other missives...

Your machine was probably not sized correctly. The 170 can _possibly_
handle domino, but that is all. You can't run additional functions. The
processor resource is just not there in a 170.

I have a client that needed to install domino on an NT platform to comply
with some processing dictates. I can tell you that domino will lock up NT
just a fast and easy as any other machine.

So, yes, it is perception. The machine is too small for the workload and you
therefore perceive that the 400 can't handle it. But what you need to
remember that the architecture currently scales over three orders of
magnitude.

I perceive that your problem is with your marketing rep or whomever sold you
the machine, or whomever told you that you could successfully run domino on
a 170.
