As aluded to in other missives... Your machine was probably not sized correctly. The 170 can _possibly_ handle domino, but that is all. You can't run additional functions. The processor resource is just not there in a 170. I have a client that needed to install domino on an NT platform to comply with some processing dictates. I can tell you that domino will lock up NT just a fast and easy as any other machine. Funny thing is, this company was taken over by another. That other company insists on e-mail going through their servers. Those e-mail servers have been @*$#&^ up for the last 2 weeks. The 400, on the other hand, is happily churning and delivering e-mail without so much as a 5 minute outage during the last 4 months, in addition to its other loads. It is the only thing (the 400) right now that prevents every single one of their clients from walking away from them. So, yes, it is perception. The machine is too small for the workload and you therefore perceive that the 400 can't handle it. But what you need to remember that the architecture currently scales over three orders of magnitude. I perceive that your problem is with your marketing rep or whomever sold you the machine, or whomever told you that you could successfully run domino on a 170. =========================================================== R.
