John,
I have not had much experience with the 4230, but I believe there is a
option in the setup of the 4230 that needs to be changed to support 12 CPI.
I had to do this once a long time ago, and if I remember right the setup
option needs changed. Check the manuals with the 4230 to find out how to
change the option.
