CPYTOIMPF rules?

When copying a file from a library to stream file in the root file
system using:

CPYTOIMPF FROMFILE(lib/file) TOSTMF('/lib/file.txt') MBROPT(*REPLACE)
RCDDLM(*CRLF) DTAFMT(*FIXED)

What are the rules that the utility follows for formatting a field
if DTAFMT(*FIXED) is used?  (i.e. packed fields, zoned decimal fields,
fields with decimals, fields without decimals, negative fields)

It seems to place 2 blanks after a packed field with 0 decimals,
3 blanks after zoned decimal with 0 decimals, 1 blank after
zoned decimal with decimals, NO spaces after character fields.

Any help, directions will be appreciated!!
