Eric,

The limitation and capacity document states the capacity is the amount of
storage, the Document Management system we use(IBMs Visual Info product)
recommends that no more than 6000 files be in one directory in order to
optimize performance (VisualInfo for AS/400 Performance and Capacity
Planning manual).    So we have many subdirectories with the TIFF files in
them.

     directory? We're looking at storing imaged documents (tiff) on the
