Hello Jim,

We had a lightning at our customers on July 3, everything behind the
 UPS was ok, but the analog modems and the ISDN Equipment died.

For protection equipment take a look at APCs website:

http://www.apcc.com/products/protectnet/index.cfm

we use the PDigitel and it works fine.
