For use with Query/400 I created a DATEFILE physical file with every conceivable date value and form. I then populated it for the largest conceivable date range with a simple RPGIV program so users could join it to an application file by whatever date matches the value in the application file. One of those values is the hundred year date. I think if you do (have done) that, you could get the hundred year date for the low date and for the high date as low_days and high_days, and then compute the seconds points (as result fields) for the low time and high time: low_seconds = (low_days * 86400) + (hh * 3600) + (mm * 60) + ss high_seconds = (high_days * 86400) + (hh * 3600) + (mm * 60) + ss duration = high_seconds - low_seconds -----Original Message----- From: sgt.walsh@icdc.com [mailto:sgt.walsh@icdc.com] Sent: Friday, July 14, 2000 11:05 AM To: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com Subject: Re: Query........Manipulating TimeFields Yes, I will be calculating elapsed times across date boundaries.
