Not a direct answer to your question but does the following fix it: RCLSTG SELECT(*DBXREF) On a system in which the entire RCLSTG takes 15 hours, this subset takes under 1/2 of an hour. clewis@iquest.net on 07/10/2000 11:19:59 AM Please respond to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com@Internet To: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com@Internet cc: Fax to: Subject: Question on Reorganizing IBM Files... Hi Folks ! Doing "disk cleaning" and I have some programs that rat out files with deleted records. Along with our 3rd party software apps files I also have IBM files that show up on my "Files with Deleted Records in order of "biggest offenders" report: The top ones are: Cross Reference Physical Files: QSYS/QADBIFLD has 273,940 active records and 1,410,315 deleted records !! QSYS/QADBKFLD has 18,824 active records and 42,115 deleted records. and then a BUNCH of other Cross Ref files that are not NEAR as "bloated"... OS/400 Document Library File QUSRSYS/QAOSSS14 has 2,919 active records and 19,625 deleted records. My question is can these things be reorged ? I know they are CONSTANTLY in use so it would have to be in restricted state. Or better YET, why doesn't IBM use the "Reuse deleted records" parameter ??? !!! Thanks !
