E Hello Philipp, QNTC is useful if you want programmatic access to PC files. You can write an AS/400 program to read and write files directly on any system that supports the SMB protocol (OS/2, NT, WinXX, and Linux should work too -- still working on that :) I once used it to allow the AS/400 HTTP server to present PDF files that were stored on the INFS but it could have worked equally well for any SMB server in the domain. Regards, Simon Coulter. «»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«» «» FlyByNight Software AS/400 Technical Specialists «» «» Eclipse the competition - run your business on an IBM AS/400. «» «» «» «» Phone: +61 3 9419 0175 Mobile: +61 0411 091 400 «» «» Fax: +61 3 9419 0175 mailto: shc@flybynight.com.au «» «» «» «» Windoze should not be open at Warp speed. «» «»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«» //--- forwarded letter ------------------------------------------------------- > X-Mailer: Mozilla 4.7 [de]C-CCK-MCD QXW0322v (Win95; I) > Date: Sat, 08 Jul 2000 00:42:34 +0200 > From: "Philipp Rusch" <Philipp.Rusch@rusch-edv.de> > To: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com > Reply-To: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com > Subject: Back up of NT server > > Hi Larry, > Option 4 is my favorite, too, I love those faces of NT guys ... > Please tell us more about your deeper knowledge about the use of IFS- > objects of the NT Server integration within the AS/400 world of objects. > To my knowledge QNTC is of no use at the moment, so what do you know > more than us ?
