I think it is reasonable to say we hope to make some changes in this
area.  Unfortunately adding more descriptor values is a bit more
involved then just Rochester defining them.  It may not be obvious, but
these descriptor values are part of the Common Execution Environment(CEE)
that is supported across other IBM platforms; and any changes need to
be agreed to with the other platforms (or the Common part of CEE ceases
to apply).

For sure, we all want progress in areas such as tool development; and I
have met no one who argues that more descriptors are not needed.  That
is not however to say that more descriptors are at the top of the
priority list for all developers.

I'll also point out that I do not read every note and it's just luck
that I saw my name in this one (assuming I am the Bruce Vining being
referenced that is).  A separate copy to me helps make sure I see any
mail that you want me to see.
