Virtual IP and Load Balancing?

Hi All,
We're in the process of changing our Lan over from TokenRing to Ethernet.
I've got two ethernet cards in the 400 (2838's), and want to set them up to
load balance/failover.
I want one IP address for the lan users to connect to (192.1.26.5 - set in
their HOSTS file), that will split the load between cards, and if possible
automatically switch to the other card if there is a problem..

I've set up lines ETHERLAN and ETHERLAN2, and after reading the "More cool
things..." redbook have set interfaces up as follows:

Internet address . . . . . . 192.1.26.5     
Subnet mask  . . . . . . . . 255.255.255.255 
Line description . . . . . . *VIRTUALIP 
Line type  . . . . . . . . . *NONE   
Associated local interface . *NONE 
Type of service  . . . . . . *NORMAL

Internet address . . . . . . 192.1.26.6     
Subnet mask  . . . . . . . . 255.255.255.0 
Line description . . . . . . ETHERLAN  
Line type  . . . . . . . . . *ELAN   
Associated local interface . 192.1.26.5

Maximum transmission unit  . *LIND

However, I'm not convinced that this is doing what i want it to do.  Has
anyone tried to set up this scenario, and how did you do it?
