That is, in fact, exactly how we handle it here. Your "cancelled" status is
what we refer to as a "voided" status. The status flag is set on, and the
item line remains in the file. However, any documention produced after that
point will no longer display the "voided" item(s), therefore, it appears on
paper as though you have an order where the item lines began numbering at 2.
