He probably means passing parameters into the query, not parameters to the
RUNQRY command. Look in the AS/400 knowledgebase for document number 6515952
: Passing parameters to a Query/400 Query.

Why don't you promt (F4) RUNQRY and see what options you get. You can then
fill in the parameters as appropriate.
