RE: MODEMS QUESTION (getting phone line number)

This is a neat trick! It seems to work unless your phone is going through a
PBX -- in which case it sounds like you get the number on the trunk from the
phone C.O. to your PBX (even if your PBX is set up to provide a "direct
dial" number).
