Unfortunately, I don't know anything about communications, so can't answer your question. However, I was surprised to see that you received no responses, because attaching a PC directly certainly used to be done when there was no such thing as a network in most companies. Well, okay, so it was a very (very very) long time ago, with a PC attached to a S/38, using a 4800 modem that weighed approximately a ton. Debbie Gallagher dgallagher@deloitte.ca ------------------------- Original message -------------------------- I would like to know if I can directly dial DIRECTLY into my 400 from home w/o going through my company network on a lind created similar to my ECS line? I have it set to auto answer. I have CA at home but wondered if I really needed a network to use it. My problem is the company network won't pick up my call any longer ever since they upgraded their "rocket modems". Now they hang up on me. I can dial out to 5 other companies just fine... go figure. I don't feel like dragging my pc into to work to try and prove a point. I was just wondering if this is possible. thanks.... -------------------------------------------------------------- +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
