Just a suggestion ....

Do what I did. Hire IBM Global Services or a reputable local BP, to come
into your shop and help you install BRMS and set up your first control
groups. 

I paid IBM for a few hours of their time and got the "jump start" that I
believe you are looking for. It was well worth the money to have a BRMS
expert on site as I learned the product... 

Then take some time to go to a BRMS class. You are correct when you say that
BRMS is very complicated. This is because of all the functionality it
offers. Learn how to get the most out of it. It is a great product!
