Most DSL services only allow you to register a single MAC address so you
will need the MAC address of the AS400's Ethernet card.  Our AS400 is
accessible via the internet, however we have an NT server between the DSL
line and the AS400 that is running firewall/proxy software.  IMHO, there is
no perfect solution that will protect your systems and network once you
connect to the global internet, however your should plan for some sort of
protection.  IMO, do not connect your AS400 directly to the internet.
