We are down to 10 AS/400's. One has V4R2 on it. It
gets consolidated on June 9. One has V4R3. It is on
the consolidation list. The rest are at a higher level.
We save more money by consolidating and moving them to a
400 that cuts their batch times about 1/60th. For faster
performance they get a lower lease payment. Only concern
is about comm. But when you tell them 8 out of 10 of
their plants already are on comm lines back to their
little 400 they realize then, for the most part, they
were already vulnerable.

This is the target 400:

Subject: Old AS/400's

Waste not - want not!

Are you still running older AS/400 operating systems? If so, what
are they and what types of applications do they support? Is it
practical and cost effective to extend the total cost of ownership?

 Thanks, ED
