[Tim McCarthy] Perhaps I was misleading. Here's how it works... An SMTP client puts together a list of receivers from the mail TO/CC and BCC addresses. When talking to the SMTP server the client "usually" sends a RCPT TO for each receiver prior to sending the message. At this stage the server has no idea who's CC'ed and who's BCC'ed it just has multiple receivers. When the SMTP server forwards this mail item to a domain it can forward it using the same multi-RCPT TO/single DATA method or break it into individual RCPT TO/DATA items. That's a server implementation dependant issue. +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
