I think it's common knowledge by now that an employee has no rights to
their works while a vendor retains all rights to their works. This is
the default when no written agreement exists to the contrary.
If it were not, I would require my employees to sign an agreement giving
up their rights.
Having said that, the individual must ask themselves whether they want
to be an employee or a vendor. Each has their costs and advantages.
