We are not using ProGen or any of the many tools/400 available to automate
programming tasks ... I do it one line at a time

ie. I typically have to write 100 lines of code to do a task, when if I had
certain tools, I would only have to write 1 line of code to do the same work
... this is a trade-off of management budgeting ... save money one place,
spend it some place else in consequence.

Well when I do my work on green screen, and IBM is moving the manuals
on-line, there is a lag in programming "How do that?" stop the work until at
home at PC internet surfing to get the answers, then later at work pick up
where left off.

This relates to why I think a company should get a computer audit once every
5 years or so ... are you using the latest tools properly for good security &
good staff productivity ... how much money are you saving by not having good
tools purchased vs. what is the impact on your security & productivity?
