  • Subject: ERRMSG in display file not displaying
  • From: "Bale, Dan" <DBale@xxxxxxxx>

I've got an interactive inquiry application I'm developing, actually cloned
from an existing application. The display file, also cloned, uses ERRMSG to
display error messages associated with a field. When an error occurs, the
message flashes for a nanosecond at the bottom of the screen, which most
users won't be agile enough to read it.

The display file is simply a subfile control record, a subfile record, and a
"normal" FKEYS record which displays the function keys on line 23-24. Both
the subfile control record and the FKEYS record have the OVERLAY keyword
defined.

The RPGLE application WRITEs the FKEYS record, then EXFMTs the subfile
control record. All other aspects of the display function correctly.

Any ideas on the ERRMSG problem?

(I've gotta get my model skeleton code uploaded.)

TIA,
Dan Bale
