You have at least four options : I used to do this at a previous site, the other mainframe was also IBM running VM/VSE; we used RJE to transfer data between the machines, which is in Communications Utilities (chargeable). Another option is to bounce it through a PC using 3270 data transfer with the mainframe and 5250 data transfer with the AS/400. Have you considered using FTP - the TCP/IP data transfer utility ? If you have something like a 3480 tape drive - this can connect to AS/400 and IBM mainframe, a bit clunky, but it would work.
