We're having a bit of an issue with a pair of IBM 6400 printers with the IPDS feature. Both printers are configured on the AS/400 as *IPDS printers with AFP(*YES). We have a simple work order sheet which includes two barcodes, both in Code 39 (3 of 9) format, with device type *AFPDS. Since putting on V4R4 in February, these printers refuse to print the work order sheets - they were fine on V4R2. In the writer job logs, we get messages PQT3630, PQT3667, and PQT3073, then the spool file is put back on hold. We have PSF/400 installed (5769SS1 option 38), and the license information for feature 5112 (1 - 20 IPM Printer Support) has been entered. The sense data on the PQT3630 message is X'041100' - I've been trying to get hold of one of the printer manuals to look that up, but the printers are 30 miles away and I haven't located a manual yet. The PQT3667 message ("Bar Code Specification Check exception at printer IBM6400.") suggests that there's something wrong with the bar codes, but they print fine on HP LaserJets with Host Print Transform so I don't believe there's anything wrong with the print file DDS. I'm downloading SF97440 to scan it for IPDS and AFPDS PTF's that we don't have. We're on cume C0049440, and all the applicable Group PTF packages were current as of 3/28 - I've ordered the new cume and new group packages for installation this Sunday. Does anyone have any other suggestions of things to look at? Thanks! Dave Shaw Spartan International, Inc.
