Bob,

Easiest way is to create a tape file (CRTTAPF) with the options you want
(the block gibberish is there) and a name that makes sense for you, format
the tape (INZTAP) with standard labels and use CPYF to copy between a
database table and the tape file. If the logic is complex you could also
write a program that writes to the tape file directly. The tape file is
simply a sequential, internally described file.
