as400 ----> Ethernet ----> HP Laser Jet 5

You can direct connect Hp printers to the as400, using the following steps:
 1. create an Outq
    crtoutq OUTQ PRTMFG
             MAXPAGES *NONE
             RMTSYS *INTNETADR
             RMTPRTQ 'PRTLMFG'
             CNNTYPE *IP
             TRANSFORM *YES
             INTNETADR 'xx.195.235.92 '
             MFRTYPMDL *HP5SI
 2. Start Remote writer
    strrmtwtr OUTQ PRTMFG
 3. Work with Print Writer Remote
    WRKWTR WTR(*ALL)

Problems:
Starts printing garbage on second report
Example: Report 1 prints fine, PC report prints fine, report 2 prints
garbage.
This is caused because the control information is only passed
when the writer is started. The PC changes the report format and
report 2 prints with the PC's fonts.

Solution:
a. Only run AS400 reports on the printer.
b. Stop and start the remote writer after each report.
c. Purchase a twinax card for the printer.

Does anyone have a better solution??
