You can put a blue kit card in the printer and use IPDS if you're attached via a Jet Direct card, or you can get the bar codes 'n more font kit from HP and use an SCS data stream. There's an example of how to do that on my web site. Go for the IPDS if you can. It's a lot more straight forward. You just use the barcode keyword in the printer file DDS. Sorry, I don't have a reference for the blue kit card, but I could ask a former employer if necessary.
