>I'll second Al on that about group ptf's. Me too.... In fact, I have set up a process that insures I order and apply these PTF CUM's every month.... I have set up jobs in the base Job Scheduler that execute multiple SNDPTFORD commands. For example, to order the latest DB CUM package, I placed this command into the OS/400 job scheduler via the ADDJOBSCDE command. SNDPTFORD PTFID((SF99104)) DELIVERY(*ANY) I've scheduled this command to run on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 3PM. I get the CD by the end of the week, load it on my system *DELAY and it is applied when I do my monthly IPL the following weekend... Now I never forget to order these fixes. My "tickler" for remembering to load them is receiving the 4 Airborne packages that arrive in my office on the third Friday of every month.... I've set this up for all the Group PTF's I want to make sure I get regularly. Currently I'm doing this for SF99104 (DB) SF99095 (HIPER) SF99076 (BU RECOVERY) and SF99024 (PERFORMANCE TOOL). IBM even has a WWW page where you can review the status of the PTF ordered via ECS: http://service.boulder.ibm.com/order_status Just enter your customer number and it will show you the status of every PTF package you've ordered and you can even drill down to see the Airborne shipping status. I just love it now that when I call SupportLine to report a problem I am able to answer the first question out of the SupportLine personnel's mouth... "Have you applied the latest PTF's ... blah blah blah?" ... with a resounding, YES I HAVE! Then they are forced to actually help me figure out the problem I'm having because I am on "current code".
