The second part is right - the first part is irrelevant. No matter how clever
the developers, they can't use what is not there!  The _system_ doesn't support
descriptors for numerics and without that support RPG can't do anything.  Tell
Rochester you need the support, the RPG folks will implement fast enough I'm
sure.  The day that C, C++, and Java support them and RPG doesn't is the time to
complain about the RPG developers.  If Java needed/wanted them, they'd be there
in an instant but for the other languages .....
