Not quite. CALLB ("call bound") is a call to a
procedure. CALLP ("call with prototype") is a call
to a procedure or a program.

Brian, CALLP can be used to replace both CALL and CALLB.
Performance-wise, CALLP is no different from CALL/CALLB
(whichever it is equivalent to). There may be some
benefit in changing from program-call to procedure-call
(call to callb), but probably not as significant as changing
the called program so it doesn't seton lr.

Callp is better than call/callb in a lot of ways, but
switching from call to callb is the easiest way to check
if making procedure calls rather than program calls will
make a significant difference.
