Personally, I'd recommend FTP instead of SNADS for this. If I read you correctly, the files you're transferring are flat files, which makes FTP easier since you don't need to create the file on the remote before you send it. Just put the files to the remote and you're done. You can build an FTP script to automate the process. Details on FTP automation can be found in the archives. eric.delong@pmsi-services.com ______________________________ Reply Separator _________________________________ Subject: Automating SNDNETF and RCVNETF Author: <MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com> at INET_WACO Date: 3/30/00 9:19 AM I am merging serveral pieces and parts from serveral files into 6 (basically) flatfiles. These 6 are used on another box by a system that merges data and the web pages. The method that has been recommended or employeed is: save to save file; dnetf; on the other box... rcvnetf and restore the save file. This works. I must automated it in one or two CLs and maybe run serveral times a day. I can clear the save file; save the data to the file; issue the sndnetf. The question s the best way to kick off the CL on the other box. I do not believe I can use trigger, because the file is not officially rcvd. I could monitor the msgq ( I ve not done much, if any, of this). Can I issue a rmtcmd from this box to that x? Issue a start pass through, with a defualt id and auto call to the CL then s h off? What is the easiest to write, maintain, and run? I am open to listen and learn om the masters on this list.
