This is not accurate.

As I posted yesterday, check APAR 12112. You can open multiple sessions on
the same device name. You need Client Express. APAR docs say ask you to have
the last service pack, but it works with the prior one too.

In Client Access all you have to do to ensure your user allocates the same
device
name every time is on the client session go to communication then
configure.
There is a workstation id field that allows you to give a session a unique
name.
The only limitation is that you can only start one session. If you require
multiple sessions on the same device you have to define multiple client
access
sessions.
