DDM requires very careful planning... You CAN NOT just fire up DDM with an application that runs fine on the 400 and expect the same results in speed between two machines. Heavy file usage with lots of random reads will show up as a "slow as a herd of turtles".. The speed of the connection also has a very heavy bearing on your results... More is better in this case... Think 512kb for really good results... DDM works best when you need to access "small" chunks of data from other machine, not huge file reads... Are ther two machines in the same room/building or long distance ??? +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
