RE: Logical File with Field being substringed as a Key

Suppose your PF (FILEPF) is like this,  

                            REF(FIELDCROSSREF))
R FILEREC                               
-------------------------------------------
  AAAAAAA   R               REFFLD(A)
  BBBBBBB   R               REFFLD(B)


Then your Logical (FILELF) will be 


R FILEREC                   PFILE(FILEPF)
-------------------------------------------
  AAAAAAA   R               REFFLD(A)
  BBBBBBB   R               REFFLD(B)
  KEY01              I      SST(AAAAAAA startpos length)
K KEY01


Note, field AAAAAAA has to be of type character field in order that you can
do a substring over it.
