Al, try this: http://tycho.usno.navy.mil/etclock.html That's U.S. Naval Official Time. Make it a book mark and you'll have the time at anytime you like. Or, use OS/2 and install nistime on your PC and then everytime you dial the internet Nistime will get the correct time and adjust your PC's time, all automatically. Simon and I started messing around with a clock setting program for the AS/400 but he got busy and I ran out of brain so it didn't happen. _______________________ Booth Martin boothm@earth.goddard.edu http://www.spy.net/~booth _______________________ "Al Barsa, Jr." <barsa2@ibm.net> Sent by: owner-midrange-l@midrange.com 03/23/2000 08:50 PM Please respond to MIDRANGE-L To: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com cc: Subject: Re: common time source on AS/400's At 10:18 AM 03/24/2000 +1200, you wrote: >Hi all, > >I wonder if anyone knows about a utility or licensed program to get the time >from a common time source. The idea is that we use our Mainframe as a >Timeserver and all Midrange Systems should source their time from there. This has been a common problem from time immemorial. What I do is call the time-of-day service from the phone company every six months. Even then when you anticipate what the lady is going to say, and enter the next value waiting for the "beep", you have an issue of how busy your system is, and will that cause another delay.
