One reason you might want to consider leaving your PF's unkeyed, is that it is really easy to see newly added records by displaying the records at the end of the physical file. This is assuming of course that you are not reusing deleted record space for new records. This method allows the PF to be used when accessing a file in arrival sequence, while you can use the LF's for random (by key) access - the best of both worlds.
